Flyfishing TOC
I posted up some old VHS video I recently digitaized that some might find interesting. You must remember that in 1984 consumer video was crude...in quality...and hardware. I had to pack around about 20# of recorder and battery...and the camera attached by a cord.

All of these segments were taken on the Deschutes River in Oregon during one 6 day float trip down the 49 miles between Warm Springs and Maupin with my two sons and 2 nephews.

The first two videos are of trout, Deschutes Redsides, the so-called Redband trout which is separate from and between Rainbow and Cutthroat, holding and feeding along the east bank. Some of these fish were vulnerable to casting, others were more or less impregnable. Spending the time watching the trout did teach me a lot about one slow section where I could never get fish by fishing over the spot where I had seen a rise. Lesson: when the flow gets slow enough the fish do not hold...but cruise as in a lake. These fish are all between 16 and 20 inches, all native and wild. Because of a 10 minute limit there are two 7 minute segments.
