This duck, possibly the only wild Falcated Duck in North America, is living a charmed existence. It has returned to the same small pond just off I-5 in Eugene for the fourth winter. It has been seen by thousands of birders adding to their "life lists", flying in from everywhere in N.A. and possibly beyond. The following 6 pictures shows the duck in Dec, 2006. It is aging, has a much shorter bustle of "falcated" feathers, and its bronze head color is no longer so vibrant
