Snake 29 Mouth of Grande Ronde
The end of the road penetrating into the bottom of Hell's Canyon, the Grande Ronde River entering from the right, the Snake continuing into the Canyon. I just noticed that this picture shows basalt layering on the hill to the left, granite (non-layered) from the middle mountain and on to the right. This IS the transition. Read #31.
