Most outdoors people and virtually all fishermen know Osprey well. Once we as a culture began to get over the mentality that it was US against nature and we had to kill all competitors, the world ranging "FISH HAWK" was one of the first raptors to be granted a reprieve from extinction. It was a relatively easy switch in attitude, given that they ate ONLY fish, and mostly small ones and most often non-game "trash" fish at that, and because they were simply so beautiful, elegant and entertaining. And so exposed. Many a fisherman has been jarred from his reverie by the nearby explosive crash of the surface puncturing dive. And once the fish in the Osprey's talons was the trout on the end of MY LINE!
