Metolius 1 - Wizard Falls
The exact orgin of the name has so far escaped me, but not the reason for it. The river flows over a solid basalt shelf, in which, at the top, a split begins which then progressively widens downstrean in a long V. The water flowing in gets aerated, mixed, and replenished with more aerated water which catches and reflects light in a way that creates a magical luminescent glow. Sometimes when a shaft of sunlight coming through the Ponderosa's catches it just right, you fully expect that something unearthlyl is about to erupt right out of the glowing froth. Wizard Falls
