When the wind is blowing, which is often, and necessarily west to east because of the funnel effect of Saddle Mt, the coves and shallows around the islands gives both refuge to the fishermen and shallow, visible, often dry-fly-rising fish. BIG fish. Everyone knows this island, and has probably pulled out to take care of business not easily taken care of in a float tube. And to spot and even cast to cruising fish.
