One doesn't think about such things until one is trying to follow the sports action through a 12 power, narrow field of vision telephoto lens, but soccer is actually a good sport to photograph, while football and baseball are not. Even with the fastest focusing, best sports lens ever made, it is QUITE challenging. What started as playful photographing of my growing daughter's spring and fall teams has led modestly to a bit more. Now High School coaches ask me to photograph their teams and use the resulting slide show as a motivational presentation before the anticipated "big" game. Seeing themselves as a Sports Illustrated type all-out jock inspires and empowers girls. And what I can pass on to the parents for the family album is really priceless.
Here are, with no apologies, some of the best from the past 5 years. All pictures taken during an actual game.
